Gloria A. Pinza is the managing partner at Pierce Atwood LLP, a Portland, Maine-based law firm with nearly 140 attorneys in seven offices across New England, Washington D.C., and Stockholm, Sweden. In addition to managing the daily operations of the firm, Gloria works with the Management Committee to create and implement the firm’s policies, objectives, and long-term strategic goals. She works closely with the firm’s leadership to maintain the highest possible professional standards in the performance of all legal work. 

Prior to becoming the firm’s managing partner, Gloria was a longtime member of its Management Committee and head of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. She has played a key role in the firm’s strategic planning and expansion initiatives in Boston, MA, Washington, DC, Portsmouth, NH, and Providence, RI. Passionate about helping fledgling businesses and other entrepreneurs realize their business potential, Gloria was also instrumental in creating and developing the firm’s Catalyst Program, which provides affordable legal services to emerging companies and entrepreneurs.

Gloria came to Pierce Atwood directly from law school, practicing in the business and tax areas. She then moved to California where she became a member of the California bar and was a partner in the Beverly Hills entertainment firm of Weissmann Wolff. During her eight years of practice in California, she represented artists and companies in the entertainment business.

Gloria was a member of Governor Paul LePage’s Transition Advisory Team and is currently a member of the governor’s Judicial Selection Committee. She is also on the Board of Maine & Company, a private, non-profit organization devoted to business development in the State of Maine. Since 2007, Gloria has been included in Best Lawyers in America for Intellectual Property Law, and she is frequently quoted in the business press throughout New England. 

Gloria received her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, and a B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA.
