Pew Research Center Reports on Perceptions of Women and Leadership

A January 2015 Pew Research Center report provided an overview of the Center's findings on the current status of women and leadership. On the whole, the report found that the American public believes women and men are equally qualified to hold leadership roles, but that barriers to achieving equality in leadership exist. Catalyst Announces 2014 Census of Women Board Directors

In January 2015, DirectWomen's partner Catalyst announced the results of its 2014 Catalyst Census: Women Board Directors. For the first time, Catalyst examined the S&P 500 instead of the Fortune 500, and found that women held only 19.2% of board seats. Credit Suisse Research Institute Study Finds Greater Gender Diversity Coincides With Improved Financial Performance

A 2014 study from the Credit Suisse Research Institute found that greater gender diversity in a company's management coincided with improved corporate financial performance and higher stock market valuations. Rhode and Packel Article in Delaware Journal of Corporate Law Evaluates Studies on Board Diversity Benefits

A recent article written by Deborah L. Rhode and Amanda K. Packel and published in the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law provides an overview of studies on the benefits of diversity to corporate governance. Committee for Economic Development Names Women Lawyers as Potential Source of Board Members

The Committee for Economic Development (CED) recently published "Every Other One: More Women on Corporate Boards," an update to their 2012 policy paper, "Fulfilling the Promise: How More Women on Corporate Boards Would Make America and American Companies More Competitive."
