Lisa Passante

Lisa Passante has been Interim Executive Director of DirectWomen since November, 2016.  Prior to joining DirectWomen, Lisa was Vice-President and Associate General Counsel at Thomson Reuters, where she served as the senior U.S.-based legal advisor to the Intellectual Property & Science business unit. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Lisa was a member of the legal department of DuPont for 19 years, where she served in a variety of capacities, including General Counsel for DuPont Performance Coatings through its transition from DuPont to a privately held company, and where she was the founder of the acclaimed DuPont Women Lawyers’ Network. Lisa served as President of the National Association of Women Lawyers in 2014-15.  She was co-chair of the Delaware Bar Association Corporate Counsel Section from 2010 to 2013, and is a member of the Philadelphia Forum of Executive Women, an active committee member for the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls and on the leadership circle of Vision 2020.  She is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law.

Beth Barefoot | Director of Finance and Operations

Beth is the Director of Finance and Operations for DirectWomen. Growing up in Oklahoma she witnessed gender and social injustice first hand, which became the driving force behind her early activism and chosen career in the political field. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Women's Studies, she worked on the Boren for Congress race as Operations Manager.  The successful campaign led her out of the plains to Washington, DC where she spent three cycles at the DCCC as Deputy Chief of Operations, Administrative Director for Senator Mazie K. Hirono and most recently as Director of Administration for the data and analytics firm BlueLabs.  She finished her law degree at Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in 2016 and plans to take the Maryland Bar Exam in 2017. Beth lives in Alexandria with her apolitical husband and two children.

Laura Beth Hooper | Operations and Information Coordinator

Laura Beth Hooper joined DirectWomen as the Operations and Information Coordinator in February, 2017. Prior to joining DirectWomen, Laura Beth interned at the Tropical Audubon Society, Just Innovate, and the Consortium for Gender, Security and Human Rights. During her internships at these diverse nonprofits, Laura Beth cultivated a love of research and engagement with social issues. While in college, Laura Beth was head delegate of her university’s Model United Nations Team and author of an honors thesis on the gendered impacts of water infrastructure development in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University in 2015.
