Christine J. Spadafor is an experienced public company board director, and has a demonstrated track record leading successful large-scale transformational strategic planning, operations optimization, communications/change management, and risk management/regulatory compliance initiatives in both domestic and global markets.    In addition, Christine brings deep experience across a broad spectrum of industries – including entertainment and media, healthcare, and private equity.  She has worked extensively in the C-suite with Fortune 500 companies and as a trusted advisor to boards of directors. 

Christine is CEO of SpadaforClay Group, Inc., a management consulting firm. She serves on the Board of Directors of Boyd Gaming Corporation, a $3B NYSE-listed company, where she is the Chair of its Governance and Nominating Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.  She serves on the Board of Directors of Kindred at Home, a $3B private company that is the largest provider of home care and hospice services in the US, where she is the Chair of the Quality and Compliance Committee. Christine also serves on the Advisory Board of WBUR, one of the premier National Public Radio stations in the US. 

Christine was a partner in three premier global management consulting firms (CSC Index, The Boston Consulting Group, AlixPartners) and has broad experience leading international engagements.  She led a transformational worldwide communications/change management program that reached nearly 3,000 stakeholders across more than 20 territories for a global entertainment and media company.  In addition, she led the design, execution and communications of a transformational finance initiative for another global entertainment and media company’s newly created international business unit; led the development of a worldwide strategy for a perfume company in France; led the development of a digital strategy for a major global medical equipment manufacturer in the Netherlands; and served as a public health consultant to the United Nations in China. 

For nearly 10 years, Christine dedicated her extensive experience in financial, operational and organizational management to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children – a nonprofit that serves abused, abandoned and homeless children. As CEO, she inherited a nearly bankrupt organization – and against all odds, set the ambitious growth strategy, restructured the corporation and corporate governance, and led the execution of a plan that resulted in an innovative turnaround that received national acclaim. Christine continues to be involved with a number of non-profit organizations as advisor or board trustee. 

Christine is a contributor to BBC World Service “Business Matters” global radio broadcast and podcast, a graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard School of Public Health, and was selected by the Business Section of the American Bar Association as one of the top 20 female attorneys with outstanding business expertise. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she co-authored a workplace health treatise published by Johns Hopkins University.  She is a lecturer on Strategic Leadership in the Visiting Executive Program at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, a lecturer at Harvard Kennedy School and is a frequent speaker at seminars and meetings addressing “Women in Leadership” topics, including the US Chamber of Commerce, Harvard Business School and international conferences sponsored by Harvard Medical School. Christine has been awarded two Doctor of Humane Letters degrees – received in recognition of her professional accomplishments and service to vulnerable and at-risk populations.
