Amy K. Amy served as the first Executive Vice President, General Counsel, andCorporate Secretary of Cameo.com (Baron App, Inc.), a hypergrowth consumer and B2B technology venture-backed company, and as an executive team member responsible for the management and strategic direction of the company and remains an advisor to the company. Cameo.com is an innovative digital marketplace where consumers can purchase digital products, including personalized video messages and merchandise from celebrities, and brands can retain celebrities to endorse their products. During the first two years of her tenure, Cameo grew from a $50 million to $1 billion valuation, 20 U.S. employees to over 400 global personnel, and 5,000 to 50,000 celebrities in the marketplace; Cameo participated in Series B and Series C financing rounds and debt financing. As the first in-house counsel, Amy formed and led the legal team responsible for Cameo’s worldwide legal, compliance, and enterprise risk management needs. As the first senior executive, she led global efforts for finance (including overseeing federal and state income tax matters, global indirect taxes, international banking setup, and maintaining the cap table) and human capital management (including hiring and terminating employees, retaining contractors, and implementing employee policies).
Amy currently serves as a board member of Stella’s Confectionery, LLC, an award-winning, woman-owned, handcrafted artisan toffee and chocolate company based in Wisconsin. Amy is an original member of Metropolitan Capital Bank’s Strategic Initiatives Advisory Board.
Additionally, Amy served as the first Senior Vice President and General Counsel of DDB Chicago, Inc., an advertising agency, which, during her tenure, grew from 300 to 1,000 employees and was one of the most profitable subsidiaries of both DDB Worldwide Communications Group Inc. and Omnicom Corporation (NYSE: OMC).
Amy’s law firm experience, both at Sidley Austin LLP and as the founder of Law Offices of Amy K. Singh, P.C., includes providing strategic advice to businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies in industries as varied as technology, life sciences, consumer goods, media, advertising, and entertainment, on matters such as significant and commercial transactions, general corporate, brand building, intellectual property, employment, risk management, and dispute resolution. Amy has provided consulting services to businesses to advance solutions for growth and connect them with resources, including customers, partners, personnel, and vendors.
Amy is a leader in civic and political organizations. Amy was invited to be a member of the National Finance Committee for both of President Barack Obama’s campaigns. In 2009, Amy was appointed by President Obama to serve during his terms as a member of the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. At the request of the family of former White House Counsel, Congressman, and Federal Judge Abner J. Mikva, Amy has served for over 14 years on the board of Mikva Challenge, a national civics education non-profit, including on the Audit and Nominating & Governance Committees.
Amy is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and is Directorship Certified. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in Honors economics from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
