Rose Marie E. Glazer is an accomplished international C-suite executive with over 30 years of experience working with Fortune 100 companies across a broad array of industries ranging from financial services, transportation, energy, and healthcare to telecom, technology, and manufacturing. She leverages her legal, regulatory, compliance, accounting, and human capital management background to advise businesses in many areas, including crisis and risk management, transformation, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, shareholder activism, ESG matters, and executive compensation.
Rose Marie is Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources & Diversity Officer at American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), a leading global insurance company operating in 70 countries with over 24,000 employees. She is responsible for aligning AIG’s worldwide talent and inclusion strategy with the company’s long-term strategic, operational, and financial objectives and oversees all aspects of human capital management as well as AIG’s corporate social responsibility endeavors. She joined AIG in 2017 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Deputy General Counsel with responsibility for advising the board of directors and executive management during a period of significant transformation. She counseled the board on its interactions with activist investors, CEO and CFO succession, and board refreshment, managed some of its largest acquisitions as well as the separation and preparation for the initial public offering of its Life & Retirement subsidiary, developed the company’s ESG engagement strategy, and championed the creation of its Sustainability Office.
Before joining AIG, Rose Marie served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel – Americas from 2011 to 2017 at Siemens AG, where she oversaw a team of 250 professionals and managed the legal affairs for all Siemens businesses in North and South America, representing $27 billion in annual revenues across multiple industries including energy, healthcare, transportation, building technologies, and software solutions. In this role, Rose Marie worked extensively with regulators at federal, state, and local levels across the region, actively supervised the successful resolution of complex litigation matters, including product liability cases, class actions, patent infringement lawsuits, and international arbitrations, and managed several acquisitions, divestitures, and spin-offs.
Prior to her 14-year career at Siemens, Rose Marie was Vice President and General Counsel at Telvista and held in-house counsel positions at Allied Riser Communications and American Airlines. She began her legal career working on corporate finance, M&A, and litigation matters with the law firm Jones Day.
Rose Marie was awarded “Governance Professional of the Year (Large Cap)” at Corporate Secretary Magazine‘s Corporate Governance Awards and named one of the “Twenty Most Influential Hispanics in Technology” by Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology Magazine. The National Diversity Council has honored her as one of the “Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology.”
Rose Marie has been featured in numerous publications and is a frequent author and speaker on topics such as human capital management, corporate governance, crisis management, compliance and ethics, and the intersection of technology and law. She is National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directorship Certified and is a member of the 2022 class of the Partnership for New York City’s David Rockefeller Fellows.
Rose Marie earned her law degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University School of Law. She also has a BBA in Accounting, summa cum laude, and a BA in Spanish, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University. She is a native Spanish speaker.
