The summer 2019 Alumnae Quarterly Call focused on the onboarding process for new directors. The call featured Melanie Trent, (Class of 2017), Former Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Administrative Office, & Company Secretary of Rowan Companies and a director of Diamondback Energy, Arcosa, and Frank’s International and Julie Hembrock Daum, SpencerStuart’s North American Board Practice Leader. Trent and Daum discussed what a new director onboarding process typically entails, best practices for corporate secretaries, and the characteristics of an effective onboarding process.
