After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Women's Studies, she worked on the Boren for Congress race as Operations Manager.  The successful campaign led her out of the plains to Washington, DC where she spent three cycles at the DCCC as Deputy Chief of Operations, Administrative Director for Senator Mazie K.
