Marie Oh Huber is a corporate board member, C-suite business and legal/public policy executive with more than 25 years of experience advising boards and leadership teams of three Fortune 500 global public companies.
Marie serves on the board of Portland General Electric (NYSE: POR), its compensation, culture and talent committee and will soon chair its nominating and sustainability committee. Previously, she served on the boards of Adevinta ASA (ADE.OL), a European-based global online classifieds company covering autos, real estate, jobs and consumer goods with over a dozen digital platforms. the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the largest community foundation in the U.S., where she chaired both the search committee for the current CEO and the corporate governance/nominating committee, and the James Campbell Company, a national private commercial real estate company.
She currently serves as a senior vice president of eBay Inc. ($70+ billion GMV, $10 billion revenue), leading its global legal and government relations team of over 200 people. At eBay, Marie has helped guide the company through major portfolio changes, two rounds of public activism, Board, CEO and executive leadership changes and global payments build out. She also navigates the company though dynamic geo-political, social, regulatory, data privacy, ESG, public policy and risk management changes increasingly directed at tech companies and consumer-facing digital platforms.
Marie has developed a consistent track record of advising boards and C-suite teams through corporate transformations in times of business and customer disruption. She’s held leadership roles in major corporate transformations throughout her career in tech, including HP spinning off Agilent Technologies, Agilent transforming to a life sciences company through active M&A, and eBay separating from PayPal and selling its StubHub, Classifieds and Korean businesses to focus on its core ecommerce marketplace.
Prior to eBay, Marie served as a senior vice president and general counsel of Agilent Technologies, during which time Agilent transformed from a diversified technology company to a life sciences company. She was also responsible for global communications (external and internal), regulatory/quality assurance and philanthropy. Before Agilent, Marie was an M&A and corporate governance lawyer at Hewlett-Packard Company. She started her career at large law firms in New York and San Francisco.
In addition to her board and operating roles, Marie is a recognized leader in DEI and is a passionate champion for women and minorities, including service as an executive sponsor for the Black, Asian American and Access employee resource groups. In 2022, she gave the Convocation Address at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and taught at Columbia Law School as a Leader-in-Residence for organizational character and leadership. She serves on the Yale University Council and the Northwestern Law Board.
The child of South Korean immigrants, Marie graduated from Yale with a B.A. in Economics, studied at the London School of Economics and earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. She is an avid cyclist and reader, and an enthusiastic learner of Korean and golf. She and her husband live in Palo Alto, California and have two young-adult children.
