Christina Ibrahim is an accomplished corporate board member and global C-suite executive with diverse experience in general management, corporate structure, culture, governance, ethics and compliance, crisis management, Assurance (internal audit), complex multi-jurisdiction transactions, enterprise risk management, cyber security, regulatory matters, strategic planning and SEC reporting.
Christina serves on the Board of Directors of PDC Energy, Inc., a $6 billion US Exploration and Production company. She serves on the nominating and governance and compensation committees.
Christina M. Ibrahim is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary at Weatherford International, a Fortune 700 global company operating in 90+ countries. She serves on the Executive Leadership Team, and as the Enterprise Risk Management Officer. She is a key strategic advisor to the Board and its Committees on a variety of issues, including Director refreshment, CEO succession planning, enterprise risk management, cyber security matters, SEC reporting and governance matters as well as all acquisition and divestiture transactions. She attends all Board and Committee meetings and participates in the Board’s and the Executive Leadership Team’s strategic planning process.
At Weatherford, Christina manages a multi-million dollar budget and a global team of 145+, overseeing legal, compliance, government affairs and commercial matters. Christina brings more than 20 years of legal experience in the oilfield services industry, is responsible for driving policy and, as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, creates company strategy. She has implemented and leads the Weatherford Enterprise Risk Management, is the Transformation Health Officer and is a member of Weatherford’s Sustainability Committee, which sets and oversees the sustainability themes and focus areas for the Company each year.
Prior to joining Weatherford, she served as Vice President, Chief Global Commercial Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Halliburton Company, with additional responsibility for the Supply Chain, M&A, Employment, Securities and Real Estate practice groups.
An active member in the community, Christina regularly speaks on topics such as diversity, leadership, compliance, culture and governance. She is currently a proud supporter and member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Texas State Bar, Texas General Counsel Forum, American Bar Association, Women’s Energy Network, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, and the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. Christina also serves on several local not-for-profit boards including the Houston Area Women’s Center and the executive leadership team of the American Heart Association Go Red campaign. Additionally, she is a former director of Prevent Blindness, Texas, the Association of Women in Energy, The Rose and the Holocaust Museum Houston.
Christina has received numerous awards recognizing her leadership and achievements, most recently the Texas Lawyer, Legal Department of the Year, Corporate Compliance, 2017, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Breakthrough Woman, 2016, Houston Business Journal’s Women in Energy Leadership honoree, 2015, National Diversity Council’s Influential Woman Leadership Award, 2014 and Corporate Counsel 100, Top In-House Lawyers in the United States, 2013.
Christina graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law where she was the Law Review Articles Editor and graduated magna cum laude. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Finance from Virginia Tech.
